Isooctanol is a mixture of carbon octanols. Colorless liquid. Relative density 0.8315, boiling point 185-190℃, refractive index 1.4308. It is made by catalytic copolymerization of propylene and butene into mixed heptene, carbonyl synthesis, and hydrogenation. It is used to produce diisooctyl phthalate and as a plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride.
Uses:
Isooctanol is used as a solvent and preservative, mainly as a raw material for polyvinyl chloride plasticizers.
